It's A First! - Chicago-born actress Drew Sidora flies in from Los Angeles to host the Inaugural Youth Summit for young folks in Englewood this Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon, at Harper High School, 6520 S. Wood. The summit will include lively discussions and creative presentations from the community regarding HIV/AIDS awareness.

Sidora, who appears on TV's "Oh So Raven," is a singer, songwriter, dancer and Disney film star ("Never Die Alone"). She'll be joined by Corey Luckett, an effective Englewood youth organizer. Panel discussions will cover the responsibilities of media, music and hip-hop and their ability to bring awareness about HIV/AIDS.

A performance by Peter Love ("Save the Children") and a performance by Sidora will make this important free gathering for youth, 12 and older, a fun and life-saving experience.
The event is sponsored by Real Men Charities, Inc., in association with the Chicago Family Foundation, an Englewood-based organization headed by William Burch. Congressman Bobby Rush (D-1st) is serving as chairman of the host committee. The event fits perfectly with the Real Men Charities' tag-line, "building healthier families and communities."

Real Men Cook Sweet Potato Pound Cake Mix is also a sponsor and is providing breakfast samples. Concerned community residents and businesses have donated lunch and a host of services.

The Illinois Department of Public Health is providing needed support, without which such a program would not be possible.
