Peter Love was born in Boston, MA, to the parents of Dr. Ben and Ann Love, MD. His mother was a Registered Nurse. Peter is the middle child of five siblings. His brothers are Kim Love and Brett Love. His sisters are Bendel Love Rucker and Brendalyn Love Goode. His father passed away when Peter was three years old. His mother remarried to Dr. Edward Page-El, MD, when Peter was six years old. He spent his early years in Nashville, TN, where Peter was introduced to music at an early age. Both his StepFather and Mother were musicians.
Peter was first formely introduced to music at the age of six appearing on stage in a musical play. He also took drum lessons. He fell in love with the trumpet, participating in the school orchestra and marching band and later with his brother's band, the Love Brothers. They were managed by the renowned Mr. Houser. When Peter was ten years old the family moved to Chicago. At age 12 Peter switched from the trumpet to singing after friends convinced him to do so. His musical training came from his school band directors and various private instructors.
Love sang in various bands until he formed his own band after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Virginia Union University, Richmond, Va. "Music is my love and sitting behind a desk just didn't do it for me" Peter explained. He jumped into music full time soon after he decided music was his life's calling. Music has been Peter Love's life ever since.
